The status of every room, without asking the front desk.

Housekeeping needs to know which rooms are free, which ones to prepare for an arrival and which ones are under maintenance. In Roombir they see it in their own workspace, with a board by floor that shares its data with the front desk.

Their workspace

Statuses and floor plan, no rates.

The housekeeping workspace has room status and the occupancy plan. It does not see rates, revenue or booking engine settings.

  • Six statuses: available, occupied, cleaning, maintenance, blocked and pending checkout.
  • Changes that leave no room for mistakes: occupied can only move to pending checkout, so nobody frees a room with the guest inside.
  • Board by floor and by category, with filters, to read the whole property at a glance.
  • History per room: who changed each status, when and with what note.

Frequently asked questions

Do housekeeping staff see the rates?

Not unless you want them to. The housekeeping workspace has its own menu — room status and floor plan — without rates or revenue.

Why can’t I set an occupied room to available?

Because the guest is still inside. Occupied can only move to pending checkout, which comes with the check-out. That way nobody sells a room that is still in use.

Are changes logged?

Yes. Each room keeps its status history: who, when and with what note.

Housekeeping sees the same as the front desk.

The manager creates the user in the housekeeping workspace and each person signs in with their own, from their phone.
